Makwe is a Bantu language of Mozambique spoken in Cabo Delgado province at the Coast close to Tanzania border area south to Quionga, Palma around Ruvuma river area.
It is also known as Kimakwe, Macue, Palma and is spken by over 60,000 people.
Makwe is also spoken in Tanzania.
There are two dialects of makwe; Coastal Makwe and Interior Makwe and the language is intelligible with Swahili.
The Makwe people are primarily Muslim.
